Development Director

SUMMARY

The Development Director is responsible for spearheading all of the organization's fundraising efforts and managing relationships with donors. The position will work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan to meet fundraising goals. Key duties include cultivating new donors, building relationships with donors, and crafting supporter communications. The position reports to the Executive Director.

OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan
  • Evaluate and improve fundraising campaigns and activities
  • Maintain and expand network of monthly donors
  • Implement one-time and monthly donor acknowledgement plans
  • Communicate and build relationships with donors via email, phone, and Zoom
  • Participate in crafting and integration of organizational messaging
  • Draft printed and digital fundraising materials
  • Manage supporter communications, including newsletters, emails, and direct mail campaigns
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
  • Identify opportunities for corporate support and other new revenue sources
  • Work with staff to utilize storytelling and highlight programmatic achievements for supporter communications
  • Other tasks, as needed

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep commitment to the organization's mission and values
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of nonprofit fundraising
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to write compelling donor communications
  • Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work remotely and enjoys being part of a startup organization
  • Big-picture and strategic thinking with problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and Google Drive/Workspace
  • Experience with fundraising software or data management software
  • Availability for occasional travel - to the annual March for Life in Washington, DC; and summer conferences

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

Hours: remote part-time, 15 hours/week

Pay rate: $25 - $30/hr DOE

Program Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the Parish Ministry Program. Other key duties include developing program resources and coordinating organizational initiatives. This position reports to the Executive Director.

OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as point of contact for 60+ affiliated parish groups.
  • Manage all steps of the parish ministry affiliation process, including reviewing parish ministry applications, interviewing potential ministry leaders, and conducting orientation meetings.
  • Lead frequent Zoom meetings and webinar presentations.
  • Maintain updated and organized parish ministry files and database.
  • Regularly communicate with parish ministry leaders to develop relationships and offer support and resources.
  • Develop and monitor parish ministry metrics.
  • Coordinate and track participation in organizational initiatives, including the National Orthodox Baby Shower, Dormition Fast Prayer Vigil to End Abortion, 40 Days for Life campaigns, pro-life marches, etc.
  • Assist with development of parish ministry materials and resources.
  • Other tasks, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Orthodox Christian in good standing, with a strong commitment to the Church's traditional teachings on moral issues
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of Orthodox Christians for Life
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to work independently and manage time remotely
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Organizational and multitasking ability
  • Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace
  • Ability to contribute to the strategic vision and long-term goals of the organization
  • Available to travel to the annual March for Life in January as well as other occasional events, such as summer conferences, for 3-5 days at a time (required)
  • Strongly preferred: experience in the pro-life movement and/or the nonprofit sector

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

Position: Program Coordinator

Hours: part-time, starting at 25 hrs/week

Pay rate: starting at $20/hour

This position is remote and flexible. Hours vary, average 25 hrs/week with potential for growth in hours and compensation.
